FFF 2018: Heartbreaking memories - The cinema of Isao Takahata

Future film Festival 2018 (Bologna, may 29th  - june 3rd), dedicates its deserved homage to the recently disappeared Isao Takahata, showing his great works as a film director.

Takahata, master of animated cinema and co-founder of the Studio Ghibli with Hayao Miyazaki, was able to go from his debut pure adventure, The Great Adventure of Horus, Prince of the Sun, to the typical japanese intimism of Only Yesterday (Omoide Poro Poro), passing through Grave of the Fireflies, a melting, realistic and tragic war movie, ending his career with his absolute masterpiece, characterized by an extremely delicate and emotional stroke, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, summary of an entire artistic life.
