3D DAY at Future Film Festival 2009

The new edition of Bologna Future Film Festival will dedicate the entire day of the 31th January to 3D and digital cinema productions.
Future Film Festival, celebrating this year its 11th edition (Bologna, 27th January- 1st February) is glad to announce that Dreamworks will take part to the day the Festival devotes to 3D productions and stereoscopy, in addition to the rich programme of events the Future Film Festival offers to its public of professionals.
3D DAY will be entirely devoted to the development and evolution of digital cinema, and in particular to 3D stereoscopy, in Italy and worldwide.
Two separated panels of professionals, including producers, distributors, movie theatre managers, Italian and foreign directors will take part to a conference, in order to discuss the state of the art of 3D elaboration new technologies, and their applications.
According to the major production companies worldwide, the vision of movies through special 3D glasses represents an actual revolution in contemporary cinema. Some arrive to compare the importance of this innovation to the impact sound had on cinema development when it was first introduced at the end of the Twenties.
Major production companies are increasingly adopting this technology, and the reasons for this choice will be discussed at the occasion of the conference that will focus on this subject.
The conference will be followed in the afternoon by the screening of different movies and 3D materials. Moreover, the public will have the opportunity to meet an internationally famous celebrity, whose work has represented an exceptional standout in the field of 3D technologies development and affirmation in cinema production and movie screening.
3D Day will see the prestigious contribution of Jeffrey Katzenberg, that will take part to the event, accounting for his experience.
The curator in charge for the 3D Day at the Festival is Marco Spagnoli, journalist and movie critic, who has been following the development of new tchnologies in cinematography, working for the “Giornale dello Spettacolo” and for “ Primissima Trade”.
