Posted on 05/09/2009 in Comunicati Stampa

FFF on January 30th will save its whole day to Digital and 3D cinema

Future Film Festival 2010, among many dates, will present a whole day dedicated to development of digital cinema and, in particular, of stereoscopy in Italy and in the rest of the world. Producers, distributors, cinema owners, directors will take part in a conference with two panels, with the aim of breaking down this new technology and its applications in the next few years.
The 3dDAY main goal is to clarify the stereoscopy and understand its main uses in the future of entertainment both cinema and tv. The 3dDAY presents a panel with cinema owners, distributors, productions to explore the future of this technology.
The 3dDAY first edition took place on January 31st in Bologna during the last Future Film Festival edition. In the occasion of the event for the first time in Italy, all the Major companies, producers, distributors and cinema owners have talked about the present and the future of stereoscopic 3D.
The 3dDAY first edition had presented also 3D screenings of the last season and the Italian 30 minutes preview of Monsters vs. Aliens by Rob Letterman and Conrad Vernon, in collaboration with Universal.
14 stereoscopic movies will be released in the next few months: the 2009-2010 season will be a decisive period for this new technology. From Pixar (with UP by Pete Docter and Bob Peterson) to James Cameron (with Avatar), the most important directors are thinking about the new way to realize a live or animation movie. In Italy there are more than 80 movie theaters and today the audience has more chances to watch a stereoscopic movie.
By audience and professional demand, the 3dDAY has become an annual Future Film Festival date.
After the 3dDAY 2009 edition, the Future Film Festival directors, Giulietta Fara and Oscar Cosulich, are glad to present the second date dedicated to stereoscopy that will take place on January 30th 2010.
In accordance with the main production companies, the 3D screenings with glasses are a real revolution like the sound was in the Twenties. There are different reasons why major companies and home theater producers are using this system. The conference will think about these reasons during the twelfth Future Film Festival edition (Bologna, January 26th to 31st).
The conference will be followed by 3D screenings and a special keynote speech with an international key figure in these new production skills.
