Future Film Festival 2010, among many dates, will present two days dedicated to development of digital cinema and, in particular, of stereoscopy in Italy and in the rest of the world. The 3dDAY will be the chance to think about the new stereoscopic technology and to understant the applications for cinema and tv in the future of entertainment. The 3dDAY will present a round table with professionals in the field of 3D, cinema owners, distributors and contents producers to explore the present and the future of this technology.
The 3dDAY first edition took place on January 31st and February 1st in Bologna during the last Future Film Festival edition. On the occasion of the event for the first time in Italy, all the Major companies, producers, distributors and cinema owners have talked about the present and the future of stereoscopic 3D. The 3dDAY first edition presented also 3D screenings of the last season and the Italian preview of Monsters vs. Aliens (30 minutes ) by Rob Letterman and Conrad Vernon, in collaboration with Universal.
By audience and professional demand, the 3dDAY has become an annual Future Film Festival date to think about the stereoscopy and its applications. The second date dedicated to 3D will take place on January 30th and 31st and it will be about cinema but not only.
In accordance with the main production companies, the 3D screenings with glasses are a real revolution like the sound was in the Twenties. There are different reasons why major companies and home entertainment producers are using this system. The panel, reviewed by the journalist Antonio Autieri, will think about these reasons, during the twelfth Future Film Festival edition (Bologna, from January 26th to 31st). The 3dDAY will be also the chance to talk about the 3D evolution for TV and its applications in the videogame world. The panel will be followed by 3D screenings such as the Pixar Animation Studios masterpieces, Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D, distributed in Italy by Buena Vista.
